Product Description |
| The Canon UV-1 filter for 52mm lenses absorbs harmful ultraviolet rays without increase of exposure; thereby preventing haziness and foggy effects in distant landscapes. It also has a very subtle warming effect, which can be useful to counter the "cool" colors you sometimes get in bright sun or in shade. It can be left on the lens at all times for protection of the camera's lens. |

Inexpensive lens protection

| I purchased this filter to go with my Canon EF-S 60mm Macro lens. I'm very happy with my purchase. I know that some UV filters have been known to negatively affect photos (increasing vignetting, mostly), but I have not experienced that with this filter. It wasn't the cheapest choice, but it certainly wasn't the most expensive, either, and it seems to do its job well. Definitely worth the $11 I paid to protect my much more valuable lens! |

| I have used this filter for literally 5 years straight. Still solid and works well. I would have expected the glass to separate from the metal ring, but it has stayed put just like the day I bought it. Solid investment in the protection of your lenses and camera. |

Ok, there's not much really to rate here. I think that some UV/clear glass filters might be bad (obvious distortion, easily scratched etc.)- but most of them offer nothing much more than some cheap glass to protect your expensive glass.
(Nothing appreciable anyway - I cannot discern their different UV blocking properties.) |
Worth every penny, if...

This fileter does nothing special UNTIL you drop your camera lens. Then it suddenly becomes very cheap insurance.
I suppose it also is good for keeping smudges off your lens. |

| I am a beginner in photography and I am aware of the debate about using a filter and not using a filter. I chose to use one to protect my lens although it seems a little expensive for what it is. This filter is easy to install on the lens and remove for cleaning. It is working as I expected it to. |
